Lidia Angelo, classe 1976, nasce in Sicilia a Salemi
e già da piccola ha una grande voglia di apprendere e creare, creativa per
eccellenza si cimenta in diverse tecniche artistiche, ama sperimentare
mettendosi sempre in gioco.
Si diploma come perito tecnico e contemporaneamente ottiene
la maturità artistica, diplomata all’Accademia di belle arti di Palermo è
specializzata nel restauro di stucchi e affreschi, nel 2001 comincia ad
insegnare materie artistiche e si abilita all’insegnamento dell’Arte e del
disegno, oggi sta conseguendo un dottorato di ricerca post laurea a tema
“L’arte dei madonnari, storia ed evoluzione” presso la “universidad de
Extremadura” in Spagna.

Artemisia, collabora con istituzioni pubbliche e private per la realizzazione
di eventi artistici e la salvaguardia della cultura e delle tradizioni locali.
La pittura di Lidia Angelo è lo specchio del suo
animo, tramite essa, l'artista, vuole esprimere le sue sensazioni .
Come un pensiero che si può toccare, i suoi lavori
sono vere e proprie impressioni, sensazioni, stati d'animo caldamente tradotti.
L'uso di colori caldi, solari e forti riporta, nel’
intensità del tratto, il suo carattere gioioso e le sue radici mediterranee.
Lidia Angelo è dotata di un innato senso del colore
che esprime in cromatismi variegati; da vita ad un tipo di pittura che guarda

tradizione.
A tutt’oggi è l’unica madonnara attiva in Sicilia e una delle poche artiste della sand art.
